Vineyards:
• Area: Monforte d'Alba.
• Grapes: Barbera 100%.
• Exposure: South, south-west.
• Altitude: 460 – 480 mt s.l.m.
•Strains per hectare: 4500.
• Vine training: Guyot.
• Harvest period: mid-September.
Winery:
Manual harvesting, maceration with the skins for 15 days at a temperature of about 26° C, it completes malolactic fermentation before winter. During spring, it goes into oak barrels of 25 hL and it remains there for a period of at least 8 months.
• Alcohol content: 14,5%.
Tasting:
• Colour: Deep ruby red.
• Smell: Rich and elegant of dried rose and violet petals, wild strawberry, blackberry followed by spicy notes of black pepper and liquorice.
• Flavour: Medium-bodied with soft tannins, balanced, smooth and long-lasting.
• Temperature of service: 18°C.
• Food pairing: Well paired with first courses of the Italian tradition, grilled meat and vegetables, roasted chicken, salty and seasoned cheeses.
